Scott Sharrard at Colony Woodstock NY

SCOTT SHARRARD

2018 GRAMMY nominee Scott Sharrard had been the touring guitarist for the Gregg Allman Band since the Fall of 2008. He’s been called “one of the best guitarists in the country” by Billboard. Gregg Allman, had high praise for the guitarist. “I know all about guitar players —I’ve seen the very best — and Scott Sharrard is the perfect guitarist for my band. He understands that you don’t need to play just for the sake of playing; Scott isn’t one of those guys who thinks they’re getting paid by the note. He never steps on the vocals, and leaves plenty of room for everyone else to do their thing, but when it’s time to solo, Scott delivers, boy.”

Pioneering post-punk band Gang of Four redesigned rock in the Late 70’s punk aftermath, taking the incendiary energy of the form and crisscrossing it with funk, stripping away the baggage of rock excess and creating a new stripped-down music that was full of agit energy, heavy grooves, shrapnel guitars and politically charged lyrics matching the fervor of the times.

Marc Delgado‘s music, lyrics & poetry are about people – motel dwellers & the world weary…& places, with no shortage of lobbies & long roads. Delgado puts listeners in the passenger seat of a non-descript sedan as it wends through the backroads in search of seediness & salvation.” – Derin Tanyol

Diversion Records Recording Artist Pete Mancini got his start as the frontman and primary songwriter of Butchers Blind, a critically acclaimed rock band from NYC. His debut solo album Foothill Freeway explored the Americana influences that were a hallmark of his work with his former band.

Erin Costelo at Colony Woodstock NY

Erin Costelo

Erin Costelo is a throwback: a songwriter that brings to mind the ‘golden age’ of music. Her fifth full-length album, SWEET MARIE, out November 2, 2018 on Compass Records, is 10-song collection recorded in 10 days in a timber-frame home on the ocean in Little Harbour, Nova Scotia. The album was brought to life in January amidst Canadian winter storms and pounding surf of the east coast. Produced by Costelo herself, SWEET MARIE finds the native Nova Scotian looking at a world and an industry that pushed her to the edge of ending her musical career – and finds her pushing back. Pulsing with a confident and cathartic energy, her incredible voice, drawing comparisons to such icons as Nina Simone and Carole King, soars even as her songs dive deep.

Lucy Dacus at Colony Woodstock NY

LUCY DACUS

One of rock’s most promising new voices, Lucy Dacus released her sophomore album Historian in 2018, a remarkably assured 10-track statement of intent. It finds her unafraid to take on the big questions – the life-or-death reckonings, and the ones that just feel that way. It’s a record full of bracing realizations, tearful declarations and moments of hard-won peace, expressed in lyrics that feel destined for countless yearbook quotes and first tattoos.

James Maddock at Colony Woodstock NY

JAMES MADDOCK

Since 1999, James Maddock’s boldly vulnerable songwriting, honeyed rasp, and distinct folk and Americana aesthetic have garnered acclaim from icons, peers, and tastemaking outlets like NPR, American Songwriter, Relix Magazine, and CMT Edge. Relix notes: “James Maddock possesses the kind of lived-in, craggy voice that would sound authoritative if he were singing the sports pages. Fortunately, he doesn’t need to do that because his compositional skills are a match for his delivery.” His consistency as a recording artist and a captivating live performer have attracted a devoted fanbase engaged and generous enough to fan fund the last two entries in his six-album oeuvre. He’s performed with Bruce Springsteen, Willie Nile, Aaron Comess (Spin Doctors) and David Immergluck (Counting Crows), sang on an album with Susan McKeown, and has built a respected international profile through tireless touring from the Northeast US to Europe to Australia.

Session Americana at Colony Woodstock NY

SESSION AMERICANA

The collaboration between Session Americana and Ali McGuirk is a perfect blend of jazzy smooth silk and raucous folk rock intertwining to produce a jubilant explosion that shines brilliantly. Session Americana performances have always felt like the reunion of old friends sitting around a table sharing stories, songs and a few beverages. The addition of McGuirk to the sound lends itself to that familiarity and mutual admiration between artists at the peak of the roots music community. The band is fluid and the energy is electric. Moving between Session Americana’s dense catalog of originals, new arrangements of Ali’s songs and covers of all sorts, this show is an effortless blending between genre and voices, collecting together to form something new and beautiful.

EMILY KING

For Emily King, the pop-soul singer from New York City who spent her first three decades living on the same downtown block, that notion was always easier said than done. A proud New Yorker, she loved her home, her family, her friends, and her life there. But a year ago, when she finally resolved to challenge herself by moving out of her comfort zone, positive changes started taking shape immediately. In Upstate New York, the fresh air and fresh mentality gave her the proper space and perspective to create what would become the album of her career. Its name: Scenery.
