The Colony was built in 1929 and is a 350-person capacity standing room / 200 capacity seated multi-purpose venue in the heart of the historic Catskills hamlet town of Woodstock NY. 

We host concerts, comedy, theatre, private events, game nights, and dance parties almost every night of the week. 

Most events that we host welcome All Ages (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult), unless otherwise noted. 

Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, we open our doors at 6PM (unless otherwise noted). The rest of the year, doors open at 7PM (unless otherwise noted).  

All seating at Colony is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED and GENERAL ADMISSION. This means WE DO NOT TAKE TABLE RESERVATIONS. For larger scale events, we sometimes sell a limited VIP reserved seat ticket at a premium price. Unless your ticket says “Reserved Seat” on it, your ticket does not entitle you to an actual seat, but merely gives you access inside the venue on the night of the show. 

We have a full bar in the live room that sells beer, wine, liquor and soft drinks, and a restaurant that is in service during almost all of our events. There is also a billiard lounge on the second floor. The billiard table is free of charge to use. 

There is no parking on premises for our attendees or our artists, however, we are flanked by Woodstock’s only two municipal lots, the one directly across the street on Rock City Road is free of charge to park in any time, day or night.  There is very limited ADA Accessible parking on site behind the Colony with a wheelchair ramp up to the side entrance.

To artists: Upon arrival, please pull up the gravel driveway on the south side of the building load your gear in to the side stage entrance double wooden doors. There is a concrete ramp to the loading door. Once you are done loading in, please immediately move your vehicle to one of the two parking lots. Coordinate with your staffed in-house sound engineer and stage manager upon arrival to compare notes on previously arranged technical Advance questions, production schedule, and hospitality. Any and all hospitality requests (drink requests, dietary restrictions and preferences), must be submitted and confirmed at least a week before show date in order to ensure availability. 

The white house directly adjacent to the gravel driveway where you loaded in (dubbed “The Tea House”) is the shared green room/backstage area for all artists performing that night. It has a private bathroom with shower, kitchen, living and dining room.  This will be where your hospitality will be delivered at the previously scheduled time. 

At the conclusion of your set, please remove all of your gear from the stage as soon as is possible after you’re done performing. There are usually multiple artists and events scheduled in one evening, and the production team will appreciate the help in aiding a smooth transition from your show to the next.

Bands will be responsible for any damage to, but not limited to, microphones, stands, monitors, backline equipment, sound boards, acoustical treatment, staging, lighting, etc. Receipts for that night will be withheld from settlement to cover the cost of any damage incurred.

There is no hard curfew on load out. Please feel free and welcome to stay and hang out, party, and have a drink at The Colony after your show is concluded. We’re happy to host you, and hope to have you back very soon.

Settlement:Please advance a PDF of artist’s w9. Settle with stage or venue manager at end of night.

Load-in:Pull up gravel driveway on south side of venue, and park near entrance ramp. Please be careful to block driveway as minimally as possible, as employees need this driveway. Load in through double doors.

Parking:Only disabled parking is available on-site. After loading in, please immediately move vehicle(s) to free municipal parking lot across the street from front of venue.

Merchandise Deal:​ 100% of sales go to artist. We can provide a merch seller for $100 flat fee. Confirm at least one week in advance.

Guest list:We typically allot 10 spots for headliner, and 5 for each opener. Please email or give physical list to stage or venue manager on day of show. 


Food: We typically provide family meals for each band. Please advance dietary restrictions.

Drink: Stage Manager typically handles drink tickets on day of show.

Green Room: White tea house next door to venue. Includes living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom with shower.
